Background
Hemford Forest is a residential subdivision located 23 km northwest of Bridgewater. Situated on the eastern shore of Hirtle Lake, this 49-year-old neighbourhood is home to approximately 50 dwellings.
In February 2018, the Municipal Council received a petition from residents of the Hemford Forest subdivision, requesting the Municipality to conduct a plebiscite on land use planning in their community. After two public information sessions, the Plebiscite was held on September 22, 2018. The result was in favour of land use planning. Hemford Forest Area Advisory Committee was established to advise staff on the drafting of the Hemford Forest Secondary Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law.
