About Wiles Lake Park
Wiles Lake Park is a six-acre municipal park with a long history of public use. Before becoming part of the municipal park system in 2014, the property was a Department of Natural Resources depot, but people were already using the site for activities such as swimming. Today, the park continues to be used by residents, while local fire departments also use the site for training.
Since the Municipality took ownership, there have been relatively few improvements to the park. Some of the former DNR buildings and structures have been removed or are being removed, while basic amenities such as picnic tables and a portable toilet have been added. This leaves Wiles Lake Park with a lot of history and potential, and an opportunity to think more intentionally about what the park could become in the future.
The Wiles Lake Park Community Plan will explore opportunities to improve both indoor and outdoor recreation at the park. This could include new amenities and recreation opportunities, accessibility improvements, connections to the lake, and ways to make the park more welcoming and useful for people of different ages, abilities, and interests.
That's where your input comes in.
We want to hear about your experience with Wiles Lake Park and your thoughts about its future. Your feedback will help us understand what people value about the park, what isn't working well, what may be missing, and what should be prioritized as the park evolves. Your input will be considered alongside feedback from community organizations, accessibility groups, municipal staff, and other community partners as the plan and conceptual design are developed.

There are no final designs or decisions at this stage. This is an opportunity to help shape the conversation before the plan is developed. Please think about your experiences with the park today, what you would like to see in the future, and what you think could make the biggest difference for the community.
Thank you for taking the time to participate and help shape the future of Wiles Lake Park.
