A new destination for wellness, connection, and innovation is coming to Osprey Village in 2026. This state-of-the-art facility will be home to Lumia Health Total Care Collective, a groundbreaking collaborative healthcare space, and a dynamic Community Hub designed to bring people together.
A Community Hub is a building that provides shared indoor and outdoor spaces and amenities that can be used by community organizations, groups, and members. Some of the types of spaces that are being considered include: a farmers market, recreational spaces, meeting and event spaces, a community garden and kitchen, and more.
A Community Hub Feasibility Study was presented to Council in 2022, and Council is looking for more resident feedback as we approach groundbreaking on the Lumia Collaborative Health Care Centre, where the Community Hub will be located.
Please note, the Feasibility Study outlines the cost to build at $9,042,430. However, that cost was established before the Lumia partnership. Since this time, the construction plan has changed as a result of the Lumia partnership. The District of Lunenburg will now be a tenant in the Lumia Building, and will not incur the construction costs. The proposed fit up cost of $2,000,000 is outlined in the 2025/2026 Municipal Budget.

The Municipality of the District of Lunenburg (MODL) is exploring the feasibility of developing a Community Hub building in the Osprey Village development. A Community Hub is a building that provides shared indoor and outdoor spaces and amenities that can be used by community organizations, groups and members. Some of the types of spaces that are being considered include: recreational spaces, meeting and event spaces, a community garden and kitchen and more!
This study will engage with community members to identify what spaces would be the most beneficial, will support the nearby development, and create a place for community enjoyment and gathering. We invite you to participate in a public survey that will gather information to inform this process. Thank you in advance for your interest and participation in this exciting community project!
Survey closes Friday, November 12 at 5pm.
