PUBLIC INFORMATION SESSION NOTICE

The Municipality of the District of Lunenburg has received a development application for Lot FE-1 MacCulloch Road (PID 60709383). The proposal includes a land-lease community with up to 23 modular single-family residential units.

As part of the development agreement process, Municipal Council is required to hold a public information session to engage with residents and gather feedback.

Session Details:

Date: March 19, 2025

Time: 6:30 – 8:30 PM

Location: Municipal Council Chambers, 10 Allee Champlain Drive, Cookville

Weather Contingency: If severe weather occurs, the session will be rescheduled to April 3, 2025.

We encourage residents to attend, ask questions, and learn more about the proposed development.

    On Tuesday, May 13, 2025, Municipal Council gave notice of its intent to consider entering into a development agreement with Jaylynn Enterprise Limited for the development of a land lease cluster development on Lot FE-1, MacCulloch Road (PID 60709383).

    A PUBLIC HEARING will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. The meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m. in the Municipal Council Chambers at 10 Allee Champlain Drive, Cookville. Subsequently, Municipal Council may give notice of their intention to enter into a development Agreement at the Council Meeting, which begins at 6:00 p.m.

    Members of the Public can make formal written or oral submissions to Council on the proposed development. Written submissions will be received until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2025. Address to: April Whynot-Lohnes, Municipal Clerk, 10 Allée Champlain Drive, Cookville, NS B4V 9E4 or email: planning@modl.ca. Oral submissions will be received at the time and place of the Hearing.

    On April 24, 2025, the Planning Advisory Committee (PAC) made a favourable recommendation to Municipal Council to proceed with a Development Agreement and to conduct the first reading. Council will consider PAC’s recommendation at its meeting on May 13, 2025.
