Sawpit Wharf Park
Sawpit Wharf Park is a key community space, providing a waterfront with a floating wharf, boat launch, parking area, day use area, green space, and more. It's located at 28 Back Harbour Road, in the community of Garden Lots. In 2007, a concept plan was developed that envisioned new features such as walking trails, an expanded parking area, and other new facilities. Under the guidance of the Sawpit Wharf Advisory Committee, some of these facilities have since been incorporated.
The Municipality of the District of Lunenburg and the Sawpit Wharf Advisory Committee are now undertaking a new vision for Sawpit Wharf Park–one that will be guided by input from the community–and you’re invited to help shape the future of this important public space.
Your input will help the designers identify priorities and directly inform a future vision for Sawpit Wharf Park to ensure it remains a popular, well-loved community space well into the future.

A splash pad for locals and tourist
I would love to see a fun family activity built here. When traveling as a family, we are always looking for down time at a park. Surprisingly, we have found lots of interesting parks with various activities across Nova Scotia, and have always thought this would be a great idea for Bridgewater. Something free, easy, and fun.

Rowing/dinghy club, boating safety prog, model boat show and regatta, simple canteen, under the stars evening with a wharf dance and bbq ,
This is a space underutilized , accessible by foot . hopefully swimable soon

Accessible connections to town, trail and overflow parking
There are no accessible connections to the town, trail or parking lot. If you have stroller, wheelchair or just young children accessing this park is a hazard unless you drive and park in the short term parking lot.

There needs to be a safe way for people to walk from town of Lunenburg to Saw Pit Park.
