Welcome to the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg's Annual Tree Giveaway Event Page!

This year marks the 3rd Annual Tree Giveaway Event. Thank you to all participants for helping make this project a great success.

Date: Saturday, September 6, 2025
Time: 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
Location: New Germany Legion Branch 102, 44 Varner Rd, New Germany, NS B0R 1E0

We're giving away 1,150 trees to residents!

Last year's overwhelming turnout means we're making a small change this year — each household may take up to two trees so that more people can take part.

2025 Tree Species:

  • Red Oak

  • Red Maple

  • Sugar Maple

  • Bur Oak

Who Can Participate:

  • This giveaway is only open to residents of the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg. If you are not a resident of MODL, you will not qualify for trees and will be turned away.

Please bring your Assessment Account Number (AAN) with you to the event.

This number can be found on your tax bill.

Why Plant a Tree?

Trees clean our air, provide shade, support wildlife, and help fight climate change. Planting trees is a simple action that creates benefits for decades to come.

  • 2025 MODL Tree Giveaway Registration Form

    Welcome to the District of Lunenburg registration form for the 2025 annual tree planting event.   

    This form is here for residents who wish to register before the day of the event. Registration is not necessary, but the benefit of registering is:

    1. Separate line: If you register in advance, you’ll be able to use a separate line at the event. This line is expected to move more quickly, as your information will already be on file, and we’ll check your name off the list.

    Registering does not guarantee you will receive a tree, as this is a first-come, first-served event. However, registering in advance will likely increase your chances, as it helps you move through check-in more quickly.
